Global Village OrchestraFrom 4 piece band to full symphony orchestra, the Global Village Orchestra is made up of elite players across Canada from Classical to Jazz to Pop and everything in between. Under the supervison of Music Co-ordinator, Levon Ichkhanian, the Global Village Orchestra has performed with the likes of Shirely Jones, the Canadian Tenors (including their Gemini winning TV Special "Seasons of Song" with guests David Foster, Paul Anka, Charice, Jackie Evancho and Justin Bieber), Chantal Kreviazuk Massey Hall Performance & Canada's Walk of Fame Televised Event, and Brian Wilson's Reimagines Gershwin Canadian Tour. Most recently, the Global Village Orchestra performed the Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver concerts of Barbra Streisand's Back to Brooklyn Tour, and was the concert orchestra for the 25th Annual Fashion Cares Gala Event featuring Sir Elton John. World SinfoniaWorld Sinfonia's vision is to establish an ongoing presence of Toronto's musical diversity through it's collective dynamic at home and on world stages, at cultural meets and international events. Led by Levon Ichkhanian, with 33 years of musical experience in cross-cultural fusion of music, World Sinfonia is a collective of leading world musicians and hidden gems residing in Toronto with diverse backgrounds including Morocco, Iran, the Caribbean, Cuba, Moldovia, Iceland, Middle East, India and Armenia... Guitars for PeaceThroughout his world travels and in working with a wide cross section of musicians, Levon Ichkhanian always found that music was a powerful tool for collaboration and tolerance. No matter which country he was in, what language the musicians spoke, or from which culture, somehow the music transcended all barriers and the musicians became united. Guitars For Peace is an effort to bring this unity on a global level, using guitarists from different background. The first project is currently underway - guitarists from Iran, India and Kenya join Levon's Canadian/Armenian sounds influenced by his world travels, in the studio to create the first album with follow-up performances. |
